HANA 花 - THE FLOWER-BOX

[A FLOWER FOR A FLOWER]
First unveiled in 2023, the first fragrance housed within this case is LILITH, Sombre Héroïne, a tuberose soliflore.
A flower within a flower.
A flower for a flower.
In Japanese, tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa), 月下香 (gekka-kō), means “the flower that scents under the moon.”
In the same language, Hana 花 means flower, and in Arab countries Hana هَناء brings joy and felicity.
In this spirit, we created this object as a celebration—an invitation to perfume oneself in calm and peace.
More than an experience, a philosophy.
A classic, dark exterior design invites one to enter its heart.
To dive into this heart of tuberose as one brings the nose close to a flower to discover its essence.
To sink into Lilith’s heart and pierce your own.
However, if you already know the fragrance of this dark heroine, this box will fall under the aegis of Pandora.
Like four petals of a flower unfolding upon opening, lifting the lid reveals a unique Apocalypse porcelain bottle containing the fragrance, protected by the perfumer.
The four photographic arcana that narrate this scented creation are placed within this flower-case [Hana] 花.
[DESIGN ME A FLOWER]
This packaging project was developed in 2014-2015 with students from the product design master’s program at the DSAA design school in Toulouse, under the guidance of their design professor and friend, Jean Passebosc.
Today, Pierre Bénard Ségu continues to work with one of the group’s students, Mathieu Laprie, on the graphic and product design for OSMOART and the OZPARFUM brand.
In 2022, the printing company ART & CARACTERE, located in Lavaur, Tarn, was responsible for its implementation.
Its design and development office and graphic design studio still hold the plans for this packaging.
[IN THE SPOTLIGHT]
The case appears in magazines such as in the article Behind the scenes of an independent perfumer’s crowdfunded scent launch published on November 1, 2024 in the trade magazine Perfumer & Flavorist.
The case was showcased at Pitti Fragranze 2024 on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the booth of the Italian distributor Abaton.
And on Sunday, September 15, 2024, during the Ascolta i profumi, respira la musica conference, the case accompanied the presence of soprano Veronica Granatiero.

On Tuesday, February 27th, the crowdfunding campaign launched on the KissKissBankBank platform to fund the creation of this perfume, bottle, and packaging.
On March 6th, a post on social media revealed the concept behind this design.
In March 2024, Jessica Mignot, an editor at Nez magazine, published an online article in which she mentioned the flower-shaped jewelry box named Hana.
