From Matter to Spirit, Halo 7

“Perfume is the spirit that conceives it, the spirit that composes it. Both material and immaterial, perfume appears as a transparent entity. Intangible, this body, this volatile soul is a messenger that reaches our receptors, our emotions, our memories. An allegory of perfume, the spirit is this olfactory form in the air we breathe in, exhale, and through which we know we are alive.”

We present the seventh halo of the exhibition “From Matter to Spirit”, taking place from Tuesday, October 28 to Saturday, November 8, 2024.

This ephemeral exhibition, imagined and created by perfumer-creator Pierre Bénard Ségu, in collaboration with other artists, will unfold within the Château des Baumes in Istres (13).

During this week-long multisensory exhibition:

Tuesday, October 28

• 10:00 am: Olfactory Curiosities Workshop (small group, max. 5 participants)

• 2:30 – 3:30 pm: Children’s Workshop (ages 7–12) “Does it smell like a ghost?” (reservation required)

• 6:30 pm: Adult Olfactory Conference “What does a ghost smell like?”, followed by the opening reception and a “Ghost Cocktail”

Saturday, November 8

• 5:30 pm: Adult Olfactory Conference “What does a ghost smell like?”, followed by a closing mediation of the exhibition
