MAISON DU PARFUMEUR
Olfactory Tasting Workshop: Discovering “Cold” Spices
Spices are much more than simple seasonings: they tell stories, evoke landscapes, and transport our senses across cultures and continents. This olfactory tasting workshop invites you to slow down, close your eyes, and immerse yourself in the rich world of spices.
In this first session, we will explore the fascinating world of “cold” spices. Mainly from the Piperaceae family and false peppers, these spices are characterized by fresh, sometimes woody, vegetal, or resinous notes that surprise both the nose and the imagination.
Workshop Highlights:
-
A sensory introduction to help recognize major aromatic families.
-
A progressive exploration of true peppers (black, white, green, long) and their olfactory nuances.
-
An immersion in the world of false peppers (pink peppercorns, Sichuan pepper, Timut pepper, etc.), with unexpected aromas blending freshness and brightness.
-
Sensory pairings to understand how these “cold” spices interact with gastronomy, perfumery, and even memories.
This workshop is an invitation to curiosity, attentive smelling, and sharing. Each participant will leave with an enriched olfactory palette and a new way of experiencing spices in daily life.
Date & Time: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Duration: 2 hours
Price: €45 per participant
