OZ PARFUM

THE PERFUMER

PIERRE BENARD SEGU

“From these materials are born precious materials which inspire me and which I structure with synthetic molecules, more linear, to create a shape, a volume, a perfume which I expose on the skin or in the air.”

Pierre Bénard Ségu, perfumer and concept designer, is a member of the International Society of Perfumer Creators.

An expert in natural raw materials for perfumery, he is also olfactory artistic director of OSMOART, perfumes, colors and sounds (www.osmoart.com) with whom he has been developing olfactory concepts for more than 20 years.

BRAND

OZPARFUM

Perfume as a connection

Through the OZPARFUM brand, Pierre Bénard carries the message and the expression of his own ideal of an independent, authentic, cultural and artistic perfumery.

This by finding the right ingredients of a perfume as one finds the right words.

A poetic search as the Japanese symbolist poet Takuji Ōte, one of the pioneers to translate the poems of Charles Baudelaire directly from French, could achieve it.

Excellence in accuracy where it is a question of exploring the synesthetic potential of scents.

In this quest of aesthetics, Pierre Bénard creates scenarios for his perfumes.

He composes perfumes, like characters, of which you are the hero and heroine.

THE FRAGRANCE

LILITH, sombre héroïne

“Tuberose is my emblem.
I fell madly in love with it.
For the perfumer that I am,
It represents all the flowers.
And for the man that I am,
She represents all women.”

LILITH, sombre héroïne is the first personal creation by Pierre Bénard Ségu for Ozparfum.

It is shaped like a soliflore, a fragrance around a single flower; around a heart of tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa), the perfumer’s emblematic flower.

Its headspace is an accord between cardamom, a cold spice and an ice molecule, menthol.

It expresses the temperature of an evening twilight and the coldness of a free woman, mistress of her life.

Like a floral bouquet, this epicenter of tuberose is adorned with notes of roses, Indian jasmine, orange and exotic flowers.

It evokes a morning twilight where exceptional flowers warm and blossom at first light like a lover and loving woman.

Its suave and maternal trail is a balm to this heart.

It is a milky way of sandalwood and tears of benzoin, It is a starry veil of cosmic musks on amber skin.

THE DOSE

THE PERFECT DRUG

“This is the perfect drug, and you want it.”

In Japan, it is not customary to spray perfume.

Culture is more cosmetic.

To present the spirit of this perfume, we decided to contain a dose of this perfect drug in a breakable ampoule allowing its inhalation.

It is equipped with a roll-on which will allow you to perfume your skin freely to experience the fragrance and exhale it.

This dose is accompanied by a card on which you will find the ingredients and the words of the perfumer that compose it.

THE BOTTLE

APOCALYPSE

“Write therefore what you have seen, what is, and what will happen next.”

APOCALYPSE is the name that Pierre Bénard Ségu gave, knowing its real meaning, to the bottle he designed for the OZPARFUM brand.

Etymologically, the word is the transcription of the ancient Greek term ἀποκάλυψις (apokálupsis) which is the action of discovering.

Borrowed from Latin, this term means a laying bare, the removal of a veil: a revelation.

Connected to cultures and beliefs, this bottle is inspired by Samā‘, a sacred gyrating dance of whirling dervishes listed as the intangible cultural heritage of humanity since 2008.

Fragile, it is also a source of fascination, which evokes the shape of a spinning top, a playful art object that you just have to come across to arouse the irrepressible desire to grab it… With a capacity of 125ml (4.3 fl.oz), this design is made of Limoges porcelain placed in a “Hana” flower case.

The flower box contains 4 photographic cards to tell you about the perfume.

KNOW-HOW & BEING

CULTURAL EXCEPTION

“Be close to the natural, be at the source. The one that fills the most beautiful bottles and perfumes the plant and human souls that produce it.

This is living, this is love.”

KNOW-HOW

These few drops of this material are our dedication to our friends who are growers of these perfume plants picked and processed in this country and this perfume is our contribution to supporting the growers of the country elsewhere.

The porcelain maker and the processor of natural raw materials are certified “Living Heritage Company”.

KNOW-BEING

Rich in olfactory culture and knowledge in various disciplines closely linked to olfaction, Pierre Bénard Ségu likes to transmit his passion for smells and perfumes.

He is convinced that the olfactory art, perfume creation, must be imbued with olfactory culture and olfactory education is the basis of this culture.

Thus, as a contribution, we offer individual or corporate training with the perfumer in order to to support this brand project.
