A highly educated experience for fragrance creators, students and enthusiasts.

Together with Pierre Benard we will explore the history, botanical characteristics, production and chemistry of Sandalwood and other woods thanks to the exclusive multimedia and olfactory materials made available by Quintis. The perfumer will also guide us in the composition of woody accords, teaching how to modulate contrasts

A precious substance

With its soft, enveloping and sensual notes, Sandalwood is an essential natural ingredient in perfumery.

The Smell Atelier Masterclass was born from the collaboration between a French perfumer and an Australian company leader in the production of Santalum album and spicatum essential oil. Thanks to their unique skills, the course will transfer to the public in-depth information on one of the most precious and appreciated substances in perfumery.

Participants will be guided in the evaluation of the different types of products and will have the opportunity to experiment with blends and agreements to understand the creative use of this ingredient.

A sustainable production

Quintis has dedicated the last 20 years to the sustainable growth, management and harvesting of Indian sandalwood (Santalum album), a plant that in its wild state was now at risk of extinction.

In 2008 it acquired an estate in Australia where the essential oil of Australian sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) is currently processed. Today the company can boast of being a leader in the supply of raw materials derived from sandalwood.

These products will be presented during the masterclass and the participants will be able to get to know them from a botanical, historical and chemical point of view.
