FLEURS DE SAISONS, an olfactory concert
published on 2023-11-12« Un parfum est une écriture, un message. Les odeurs qui le composent créent une sensation, comme les sont à la musique, la lumière aux couleurs et, dont le vecteur est l’air »
« Fleurs de saisons » is a concert proposed by Pierre Bénard with the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra at the Soupetard Cultural Center in Toulouse
The four sonnets written by Antonio Vivaldi for his masterpiece dedicated to the four seasons will be celebrated with his music and four fragrant compositions.
THE 4 SEASONS
With this masterpiece dedicated to the four seasons (spring, summer, autumn and winter), the famous Italian maestro Antonio Vivaldi composes this grandiose universal hymn to nature and climatology with all the genius of his expressive virtuoso musical language.
What we know less well is that the composer took great care in linking his music to the writing of sonnets with respect to each season.
Etymologically, the word sonnet derives from the language of sound, like the tune of a sung melody or a little song.
Pierre Bénard will perfume these airs by offering a perfumer’s touch of an olfactory interpretation of these four poems.
In this exercise, it is no longer perfumes that will accompany symphonic tableaux but an orchestra, that of the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra, and a perfumer-creator who will accompany the words of its author.
Perfume and music at the service of poetry.
A final musical and olfactory score will close this ephemeral concert with the broadcast of “Lilith, sombre heroine”, the soliflore perfume by Pierre Bénard, perfumer and olfactory artistic director of OSMOART to which “The bullfighter’s prayer” by Joaquin Turina will be connected, performing by the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra.
Perfume as a work of the mind.
PERFUMES
(Spring)
Nature is in a good mood, its scents awaken.
Citrus fruits and spices give way to greenery.
orchard fruit trees.
Umbels, bells, animals fill you with wonder…a sprig of lily of the valley.
Olfactory Notes: Spicy Citrus; green fruits and herbs; pink carrot flower; animal lily of the valley, umbelliferous resin.
(Summer)
Incandescent, the fine sand guides us towards the freshness of the water and denser sand.
The hand placed on the forehead serves as a sun visor to contemplate the sea horizon.
Its breeze fills our nostrils and our feet sink as the foam advances.
Like driftwood or seaweed, we move backwards and forwards in this ecotone with this tactile sensation of wet sand covering our feet.
Olfactory Notes: Wet Sand; sea foam and spray; saffron from the east; driftwood fire, dune flowers.
(Autumn)
There are flowers that leave their wake perfume paths of undergrowth.
Autumn jasmine still diffuses its wild scent.
The leaves are only tawny in color.
Life like perfume returns to the earth.
Olfactory notes: telluric and fungal molecules; undergrowth flower; tree moss
(Winter)
The perfume is wintry, tactile and icy.
Biting like a stethoscope on your chest.
The materials that compose it are no longer organic.
A mixture of water and humus, it wraps itself in dead leaves, earth and damp moss.
The soul of a small white flower, draped in water crystals, will soon pierce this powdery snow.
Olfactory notes: icy and medicinal effect; white, aquatic and aldehyde flowers; oakmoss, patchouli; musky and powdery trail.
OLFACTIVE DIFFUSION OF LILITH, Sombre Héroïne
The perfume is diffused in the auditorium by ventilation through Osmoart diffusion systems.
The olfactory composition broadcast during the concert is made according to the recommendations of IFRA, International Fragrance Association (https://ifrafragrance.org).
The diffusion is carried out by micronization and it is non-wetting.
There is no direct contact with the skin.
Pierre Bénard, perfumer-creator who imagined the fragrance for this concert, is a member of the International Society of Perfumers-Creators, an association linked to IFRA (https://www.perfumer-creators.com/fr).
This fragrant moment is accompanied by music by the musical composition chosen and performed by the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra.
Olfactory notes: cardamom crystal, narcissus reflection, tuberose heart, Madonna lily, milky way, cosmic musk, amber skin
